Logo Design for Artarmon Fine Dental

For the initial presentations, I've intentionally kept the designs in a single-colour palette so we can focus purely on the strength of the ideas, typography and overall direction. Rather than relying on typical dental imagery, the concepts explore a more refined identity that reflects Artarmon Fine Dental's positioning as a practice known for quality, precision and personalised care. The aim is to create a timeless brand that feels premium yet approachable, with colour and supporting brand elements to be explored once we've identified the strongest design direction.

Concept 1: Logo Design for Artarmon Fine Dental

This concept centres around a custom AFD monogram, creating a distinctive mark that can stand confidently on its own across signage, uniforms, social media and branded materials. The lower-case lettering gives the identity a welcoming and approachable feel, while the italicised f and d introduce a subtle sense of movement, craftsmanship and refinement. Pairing the monogram with the full practice name in uppercase creates a balanced contrast between warmth and professionalism, reinforcing the "Fine Dental" positioning without relying on traditional dental symbolism.

Concept 2: Logo Design for Artarmon Fine Dental

This concept takes the only direct reference to dentistry, but in a restrained and contemporary way. A single flowing line forms both a simplified tooth and a subtle A, creating a unique symbol without feeling clinical or cliché. The clean typography complements the icon, producing a brand that feels elegant, trustworthy and approachable. The simplicity of the mark also ensures it remains highly recognisable across both small and large applications.

This direction moves towards a more corporate aesthetic, using a refined monogram alongside sophisticated typography to communicate confidence, precision and experience. The clean construction and generous spacing create a timeless identity that feels established and premium, making it well suited to a practice focused on high-quality cosmetic, implant and restorative dentistry. It is understated, professional and designed for longevity.

This concept revisits the AFD monogram with a more integrated approach, connecting the letterforms to create a unique and ownable identity. A subtle smile sits beneath the lettering, not as an obvious graphic, but as a quiet expression of confidence and positive outcomes. The overall result is elegant, approachable and memorable, reflecting a practice that builds trust through precision, care and attention to detail rather than overt marketing.

Concept 5: Logo Design for Artarmon Fine Dental

This concept explores a custom wordmark where the smile is seamlessly integrated into the typography itself, creating a distinctive identity that feels refined and memorable. Alongside the primary logo is a standalone AFD icon with the same understated smile, providing a versatile secondary mark for social media, gallery watermarks, uniforms and other brand applications. This approach creates a cohesive visual system, allowing the practice to maintain a premium, consistent identity across every touchpoint while giving the brand greater flexibility as it grows.

Concept 6: Logo Design for Artarmon Fine Dental

As a late addition, this concept explores a more symbolic direction by combining the letter A within the shape of a tooth, creating a distinctive mark that is both meaningful and memorable. From the centre, an organic tree-like form grows upward, representing life, health, confidence and long-term wellbeing—reflecting the lasting impact that quality dental care can have on a person's life.

The design remains intentionally minimal, using positive and negative space to create a refined icon without unnecessary detail. Rather than focusing solely on dentistry, it represents growth, strength and care, resulting in an elegant identity that feels timeless, approachable and distinctive.
