Logo Design for Taberna Property

This round explores a restrained and more timeless direction for Taberna Property, with an emphasis on elegance, structure and long-term recognisability. Given the brand will need to work across signage, buildings, stationery and digital applications, the focus was on simple, confident forms that feel established rather than decorative. Across the round, I’ve drawn on the Roman character behind the name in a subtle way, using arches, symmetry and classic typography to suggest permanence and stability without becoming overly literal or themed.

Overall, this round moves between two main approaches: a pure wordmark direction for clarity and elegance, and a series of symbol-led directions that build a stronger standalone brand marker. The common thread throughout is a clean, black-and-white identity that feels stable, recognisable and suited to a growing commercial property brand.

Concept 1A: Logo Design for Taberna Property

The idea behind this concept was to let the Taberna name carry the identity through typography alone. The serif style introduces a more classical tone, which suits the Roman reference in the name and helps position the brand as established and refined. I’ve kept Property secondary and widely spaced beneath, which gives the overall logo a more composed and orderly feel. This direction is the most minimal of the set and would work well where the name itself needs to do the work, particularly on building signage, printed material and situations where simplicity is the strongest asset.

Concept 1B: Logo Design for Taberna Property

This variation stays within the same thinking, but shifts the balance slightly through proportion and spacing. The typography feels a little more open and understated, which gives the logo a Bolder and more elegant presence. The focus here was on creating a wordmark that feels premium and stable without becoming heavy or overly formal. Rather than introducing a separate symbol, this direction keeps the branding highly straightforward, which may be useful if the goal is strong name recognition first, with a clean identity system that can easily extend across multiple properties and future ventures.

Concept 2: Logo Design for Taberna Property

This direction explores a custom T monogram set within an arched form. The arch introduces an architectural cue and also ties back to the Roman character behind the name, while the internal letterform keeps the symbol closely connected to Taberna itself. The result is more emblematic than the wordmark-only directions, giving the brand a recognisable mark that could be used independently on signage, entry points, social media or building materials. The intention was to create something with a sense of permanence and structure, while still keeping the symbol clean enough to feel modern and commercially practical.

Concept 3: Logo Design for Taberna Property

The idea behind this concept was to simplify the architectural reference even further. Rather than creating a literal monogram, the symbol uses a minimal arched form that feels more abstract and open-ended. This gives the brand a clean, distinctive marker without forcing too much meaning into it. It also introduces a sense of possibility, which aligns well with the business’s long-term ambition to grow its portfolio and potentially expand into hospitality-related spaces later on. The simplicity of the mark makes it versatile, while the classic wordmark beneath keeps the overall identity grounded and stable.

Concept 4: Logo Design for Taberna Property

This concept takes a more direct monogram approach by combining the T with the arch into one integrated symbol. The structure is more geometric and contained, which helps the logo feel organised and deliberate. The symbolism is fairly clear without being overstated: the T anchors the mark to the brand name, while the arch suggests architecture, place and permanence. I’ve kept the typography balanced and formal so the icon remains the focal point. This direction has a strong signage quality and would be particularly effective where a more recognisable badge-like identity is useful.

Concept 5: Logo Design for Taberna Property

This direction develops the monogram further into a more enclosed emblem. The additional framing gives the icon a slightly more traditional and established feel, which may suit the brief’s emphasis on timelessness and stability. The symbol has a stronger sense of completeness and could work well where the brand needs a compact stamp or badge, such as on building directories, business cards or social media avatars. While still minimal overall, this version leans a little more into the heritage side of the brand, balancing the Roman influence with a practical, modern presentation.

In Summary...

I hope you like the designs so far, and the ideas that formed them.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.
